We’ve been in the TV industry for over 15 years serving in corporate and executive management for top cable and satellite operators throughout our career and are committed to the benefits that the industry has to offer. Television, although viewed as a necessity by many, is not a utility, but still an entertainment service. Therefore the rates charged have been established to accommodate offsetting expenses cable operators and satellite companies have incurred to build the vast infrastructure that they had to develop. In many cases, due to competition and changing needs, cable and satellite operators simply have not yet developed the customer service aspect to properly train their employees to sell-in what is needed versus meeting company objectives, creating what we call "churn" in industry lingo. Quite simply, customers get disgruntled because they are sold in a level of service that they don’t need, doesn’t match their needs, or costs more than they can afford once the promotional period has ended. This causes mistrust with the consumer and creates additional costs to the cable and/or satellite company.
